Amir has over 30 years of experience in the field of machine vision and is recognized and respected for his accomplishments in the industry. He has developed several generations of machine vision systems for applications in the automotive, defense, and food and beverage container industries. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) with two consecutive terms as the Chairman of the Board. He is also the cofounder of the Automation Technologies Council (ATC), which is the umbrella organization that Robotics Industry (RIA) and Automated Imaging Association (AIA) coexist along with other industry trade associations in the automation industries. He has authored numerous papers on machine vision and has several patents. Prior to starting Applied Vision, he was the vice president of marketing and product development at the LumenX Company (formerly Ball Corporation, Industrial Systems Division). Amir is a graduate of North East London University in Electronics Engineering and has worked towards a Ph.D. at Kent State University. Amir was the recipient of 2002’s prestigious Automated Imaging Achievement Award (the highest such award in electronic imaging) in recognition of his decades of contribution and accomplishments in both technical and commercial successes in the machine vision industry.
