Visualizing the Future at Ascot Parkway

AKRON, OH, June 1, 2005 - Applied Vision Company, a Recent Addition to the Corporate Park, is Already Planning for Growth! Anheuser Busch, Armstrong Flooring and Del Monte are amongst a long list of global customers of Applied Vision, an Akron-based company. Under the watchful robotic eyes of Applied Vision Genius® systems, the products of the above companies are examined during production for quality, functionality, appearance and safety. Applied Vision Company recently moved to a new custom-designed building, its world headquarters, located in Ascot Parkway. Akron Mayor, Don Plusquellic, conducted his weekly news conference today along with the founders of Applied Vision, Amir Novini (President/CEO), Manijeh Novini (Chief Financial Officer), and their staff.

In his address to the members of the press, Applied Vision employees and guests, Mayor Plusquellic stated, “This is a great success story, not only for Applied Vision, but for the City of Akron. We worked hard to make it as attractive as possible for Applied Vision to locate in our city. It’s what we do with all businesses showing an interest in this community. Our mission is to retain the jobs we have here and attract more good jobs. We are very proud of how Akron’s investment here at Ascot has been paying off.”

Don Plusquellic added, “In Akron’s six city-owned industrial parks, the city provides as much infrastructure assistance as possible to reduce the cost to businesses interested in locating in them. Low-cost building sites, with new streets, curbs, water and sewer lines, lighting and more are provided as an incentive for companies. Currently, Akron has 37 businesses in its six industrial parks with a total employment of more than 2,700.”

In his address to the members of the press, Amir Novini stated, “We are happy to have invested in our future by building here at Ascot Parkway.” Novini added, “The City of Akron provided several incentives to keep us in the Akron area including prime industrial land at a lower than market value. This enabled us to invest a larger sum in the design and layout of our building, totaling over a potential 100,000 square feet of prime office and manufacturing space, allowing for future expansion. Applied Vision has experienced 400% revenue growth over the past five years, with 50% growth the last fiscal year, and the same is forecasted for the current year. The number of employees has increased 26% since January of 2005. With last fiscal year’s average wage of $48,000, we are providing a strong tax base and consistent local spending for our community.”
