AKRON, OH, August 11, 2004 – Applied Vision Company, the world’s technology and innovations leader in application-specific machine vision for the containers, packaging and printing industries has officially broken ground on its new state of the art facility in Akron at Ascot Industrial Parkway. Attending the champagne ceremony were Mr. David Lietz and Ms. Sherril Bryson of the Akron Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. Amir Novini, President of Applied Vision, and his immediate staff were also present. The new two-story building will be built on 6.2 acres of land overlooking a nature preserve. Geis Construction Company of Streetsboro, Ohio was awarded the multi-million dollar project. Features of the new building will include a grand glass and granite entrance and such amenities as an exercise room and fully air-conditioned manufacturing facility. The City of Akron is developing a public roadway to be named Vision Lane to facilitate additional access to the company entrance and the visitors' and employee parking lots from Ascot Parkway. The new Applied Vision address is planned to be 2020 Vision Lane and will be easily accessible by major interstate highways as well as both Cleveland Hopkins International and Akron Canton Regional airports.

“The City of Akron welcomes the decision of Applied Vision to invest in the City of Akron.
